TASC test assesses five subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The test has been nationally-normed and measures one’s level of achievement relative to that of graduating high school seniors and readiness for college and the workforce as outlined by the Common Core State Standards.
TASC test, which is Common Core-aligned, features a design that allows states to gradually transition from the foundational concepts of the Common Core State Standards to a deeper alignment over a three-year period.
This approach allows states to transition their professional development and curriculum planning to the Common Core State Standards over a three-year period. This gradual transition allows students to become familiar with the new Common Core approach to test questions.
TASC test supports adult learners as they transition from their current preparation and practice, to that required by the full Common Core State Standards.
TASC test has been carefully researched and tested. CTB’s research staff provides leadership to the measurement community through peer-reviewed publications and presentations and the development of state-of-the art psychometric methods resulting in industry awards and honors.
CTB’s research staff includes doctorate-level research scientists, as well as statistical analysts and research implementation specialists. CTB works collaboratively with adult educators to provide TASC test results and interpretations that are valid, interpretable, and technically defensible.
